OTHER WORKS
Here you may find works I consider to be peculiar enough in the context of my wider research to warrant individual consideration: they are pieces that required distinctive approaches, whether in their conception, their research framework or their execution.
THE FACTORY (20x100cm ca., 2026)
Mapplethorpe and Warhol had a complex relationship: they admired each other, distrusted each other, respected each other, competed with one another, influenced each other. It is not difficult to imagine that, as was the case for many other queer artists, the latter’s studio — ‘The Factory’ — fascinated the former.
The catalogue of the exhibition that inspired this work* featured silver pages as dividers between the various sections of the book. By pairing these pages with mirror cardstock, I wanted to represent queer solidarity and the intertwined paths of two figures who were as alike as they were different. They met different ends, and approached their shared attraction to men in different ways — but they met, they photographed one another, and both left an indelible mark on the history of art; silver threads intertwining like tendrils from two different plants, growing along the same wall.
* ROBERT MAPPLETHORPE - Le Forme del Desiderio, Palazzo Reale (2026, January 29th - May 17th)
CIRCLE IV (50x50cm, 2025)
This work was inspired by my personal research into the Darién Gap and the relentless financial exploitation of human tragedy on online platforms - in this case YouTube, specifically.
The work features a sardonic collage of several video titles and thumbnails I personally consider to be extremely distasteful, ranging from political rage-bait to ‘travel’ and shock content.
The channels have been anonymised, denying the profiteers the recognition they seek while calling attention to the direct consequences of a profit-driven Internet.
MEMENTO EXSTITISTI(53x48cm, 2025)
This work is a personal reflection on the nature of time and the anxieties it provokes.
Featuring several symbols tied to the concept, the work collapses into a yawning chasm, denoting the futility of man’s attempts to control and resist entropy.
At the end of all that is, one can only remember you have existed.
